Supervisory Park Ranger (I)

You will be responsible for leading and managing the Division of Interpretation and Resource Education, which includes supervision of a cadre of interpretive professionals; management and operation of two to three visitor centers; oversight of both printed and digital park media, including the park's webpage and social media presence; coordination and collaboration with the park's primary park partner, the Point Reyes National Seashore Association; and management of a diverse volunteer program that supports many different park divisions. This position serves as the park Public Information Officer, with responsibilities for media coordination and strategic communications on a wide array of park issues. This position serves on the Point Reyes National Seashore leadership team, and plays a role in strategic planning parkwide. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/24/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
supervising a park interpretive program; serving as a lead interpretive ranger, environmental educator or teacher in a park, recreation, or conservation area; management or program specialist work involving the development and/or implementation of policy related to the interpretation or management of park areas or similar operations; or other similar work. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
