Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist

This position will serve as the Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist (Chief of Facilities Management) for Point Reyes National Seashore providing overall leadership to and management of the Division. Point Reyes manages more than 86,000 acres of land and water, including more than 32,000 acres of wilderness and nearly 28,000 acres of active beef and dairy ranch operations and hosts nearly 2.5 million visitors annually. As the Chief of Facility Management at PORE, you will:
Oversee the park facilities management program, including multiple supervisory staff positions, and is responsible for the administrative functions of the Division. Serve on the park's leadership team. Manage a diverse asset portfolio consisting of more than 700 assets, including managing more than 80 miles of roads (paved and unpaved), 140 miles of trail, 28 drinking water systems, and more than 250 administrative, historic, public use structures including park housing units. Serve as a key point of contact for federal highways and other facilities projects, including the Federal Highways Federal Lands Access Program project to improve Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, a primary road within the Seashore; and Serve as the team lead for more than 30 permanent and career seasonal employees that perform a variety of trades including skilled craftsmen, equipment operators, and maintenance mechanics. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs; Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for work ability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans; or Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one- or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organization funding the project. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
