Trail Programs Coordinator

Provide training and education to all levels of Trails staff including park staff, Volunteers in Parks (VIP) members, and seasonal Youth Conservation Corp (YCC) staff. Develop and maintain curriculum, testing and evaluation criteria for employees for all aspects of the Trail Program. This includes but is not limited to curriculum surrounding trail design, maintenance, and rehabilitation, as well as specific curriculum on tools, tool maintenance, and proper use. It also includes curriculum on pertinent park environmental issues and programs; Engage and interact with outside groups to recruit for VIP and YCC and inform outside groups about seasonal NPS staffing positions; Conduct outreach through local high schools, youth groups, colleges and state and county programs and other federal agencies; Coordinate day to day field level operations and trail maintenance activities of the VIP and YCC programs. Coordinate trail work program assignments and projects for NPS seasonal staff, VIP's, YCC enrollees and local Conservation Corps working under agreements; Perform trail maintenance activities, including but not limited to, vegetation removal, tread repairs, drainage improvements, and trail structure installation and maintenance (bridges, retaining walls, stairs, turnpikes, boardwalks, and signs); and Manage the HETAP program (high efficiency trails assessment program) by gathering and utilizing G IS Data to display information for planning activities. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations and trail maintenance activities for volunteer and youth groups; developing a trails oriented education and training program for youth, volunteers and staff; Leading and serving as teacher/trainer for seasonal youth groups performing trail work; using GIS technology to collect and map data for trails planning projects; or performing trails maintenance and construction activities. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least one year of graduate level education with major study directly related to the work of the position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a COMBINATION of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours (or equivalent) earned towards a graduate degree and divide by 18 semester hours (or equivalent). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
